The SF (Spin & Fold) Lamp Series, an ICFF Studio award winning collection, is both an homage to the art of hand spinning metal, and an exploration of the boundaries of the craft. Unlike most spun metal objects, SF lamps are not quite radially symmetrical. After the lamp shade is spun, a cutting tool is used to create an opening. The shade is then folded and secured into its new form. The result is a light object that shifts from typically symmetrical to subtly organic, depending on the vantage point.
